How we earn trust

Every score traces to the specific public actions behind it. Open any bill or politician page and check the record yourself.
Published methodology
We publish how scoring works — what is measured, from which sources, at what granularity — and publicly log every methodology change.
The escrow guarantee
The scoring engine is a trade secret held in escrow: if Votr ever shuts down, is captured, or abandons its mission, the engine is released as open source. It can never be quietly buried or misused.
Privacy by architecture
Your political profile lives in your browser, not on our servers. Alignment is computed on your device. We cannot read what we do not hold.
Civic information, free forever
Ballot lookup, candidate profiles, and alignment scores are never paywalled and never require an account.
